The students of Odisha based Sri Sri University (SSU) have organized an elocution program to celebrate the spirit of “August Kranti”. An innovative club it is the National Integration Club (NIC) works to foster diversity through social, cultural and academic interactions. Sri Sri University is a new age glocal university increasingly attracting students and academicians from across the nation.
It should be noted the SSU which claims to be the happiest campus is alcohol free, drug free, smoke free and violence free campus. This university is unique in combining life skills and academic skills to develop ethical and effective leaders in management and policy making. Earlier last year, Abhishek Jagini, a student at the Faculty of Good Governance has taken leadership to collaborate to create the innovative platform of NIC. Mr. Jagini conceptualized the club feeling the innate the need of promoting diversity and integration through interaction and collaboration among languages, literature and customs of India.
The launch started with the sacred hymns of Guru Puja followed by the inaugural address by Manikanta Chintala, Convenor, National Integration Club, Sri Sri University. The bilingual competition had a great response from the students. The topic “My idea of India” for English speakers provided the participants with a chance to give their view and idea of India, equally engaging and captivating was the “Ek Bharat Shrest Bharat” for the Hindi speakers.
Suchith Peddi (1st), Samruddhi Gharpure (2nd), Muskaan Sawadia (3rd) were the awarded the best speakers for English and Aarya Gupta (1st), Karan Tiwari (2nd), Pallavi Agarwal (3rd) for the Hindi round respectively.
Prof Rajiv Gupta, Prof Rupal Shah and Sri Purushotham Nambiar of Sri Sri University were on the panel of judges. The event was initiated by Simran Kothamasu, the secretary of the club. The event concluded with the felicitation of the jury members by the convenor. Following which the vote of thanks was proposed by the program host Richa Kaushik.
