NSS Day 2022 Celebration

On the occasion of NSS Day and 14th Foundation Day of Sri Sri University the following events were conducted at Sri Sri University.

Flag hosting
NSS flag hosting was conducted in the amphitheatres. The students welcomed the chief guest of the event Ms. Rupal Shah, Capt. Chandra Sekhar Panda, Dean Student affairs and other delegates with NSS claps. NSS advisors, Dr. Ravish Mathew and Dr. Alekh Chandra Mohanty, NSS program coordinators Dr. Snehasish Routray and Dr. Sonam Agrawal and Ms Rupali Naik were present on this ocassion. The chief guest hoisted the flag followed by the NSS song by the student volunteers. Captain Panda and Ms Shah addressed the students about the importance of NSS day and advised to students to participate in community services.

Plantation drive
About 100 volunteers participated in plantation drive under the flagship of NSS unit of Sri Sri University on 24th September 2022. Around 20 numbers of saplings of Arjuna tree and Golden shower tree were planted during this. The saplings were of one-year-old and they were planted at various places within the campus. The plantation was done near the entry points of Farm 02, the pathways towards the hostel areas, near medicinal garden and entomology farm sides. Student volunteers made the pits on the spot based on the requirements and watered as well. The volunteers were also advised to look after those planted saplings onwards.

Blood donation camp
A Blood Donation Camp was organised by NSS bureau Sri Sri Univrtsity on the occasion of NSS day on 24th September 2022 at Sri Sri University campus. The blood camp was inaugurated by Prof and Dean of Ayurveda department Dr RK Panda in presence of Captain(IN) CS Panda, Director Student Affairs, NSS advisors Prof Alekh Kumar Mohanty and Dr.Ravish Mathew Asst Professor FMS and Programme Officers of NSS bureau Dr.Snehasish Routray, Dr.Mandakini Kabi and Dr.Sonam Agrawal. NSS volunteers, Students, faculty members, teaching and non-teaching staffs of Sri Sri University actively participated in the blood camp and altogether 114 units of blood were collected from the camp. NSS bureau Sri Sri University is planning for more similar blood camps in the coming days
