Course Details

Over the years, a paradigm shift has been observed in the landscape of science. This is attributed to the enormous amount of new challenges encountered by scientists such as new discoveries, employability, cutting-edge research, and ever increasing demands of this rapidly changing modern society. As a result, cross-, inter-, and multi-disciplinary science research programs have emerged, leading to a convergence of ideas, knowledge, and expertise, to counter these prevailing challenges; at the same time, a more pedagogical, holistic, and pragmatic teaching-learning approach has been felt and implemented in today’s science education at universities.

It is in response to this the M. Sc. Mathematics program at Sri Sri University is envisioned. It is tailored to incorporate essential ingredients of the multifaceted education system of this rapidly changing world.  It is a two-year program that focuses on the application of innovative mathematical reasoning and computational tools to resolve challenges related to other disciplines. These include science, engineering, economics, business and medicine.

Program Objectives:

The objectives of this program are to cater and to meet the needs and aspirations of contemporary Physics students. It aims

  1. To provide the pedagogical and content knowledge of Mathematics.
  2. To provide necessary knowledge of allied subjects.
  3. To provide necessary technical and soft skills.
  4. To create thinking abilities.
  5. To train to ‘Read-to-Learn’ and ‘Learn-to-Read’.
  6. To make ‘Learning-while-Doing’ a realistic process.
  7. To develop ‘Problem Solving Skills’ (PSK).
  8. To develop proficiency in computer programming.
  9. To connect science and technology with society.
  10. To prepare the students for higher studies and various national/international level competitive/entrance exams (NET, JEST, GATE, Subject GRE).
