Message from HoD,

Education—and the process of being educated—is a deeply engaging and lifelong phenomenon. It begins in childhood and continues throughout our lives, unfolding in diverse forms and experiences. Along this journey, our mentors—parents, teachers, and gurus—along with the cultural values we inherit and the environment in which we grow, become guiding companions. Learning from society, observing life, and reflecting upon experiences gradually shape our understanding of the world. Thus, education is never a finite destination; it is an ongoing quest for knowledge that constantly opens new horizons for the seeker.

The world of performing arts offers one such profound domain of learning. Rooted in rich traditions, historical legacies, and classical shastras, the performing arts stand upon a foundation that is both enduring and dynamic. Over centuries, this field has witnessed transformation, experimentation, and renewal. Despite challenges and transitions, it has continually revealed new possibilities for exploration and creative expression. From the earliest moments when human emotions and ideas first found articulation through movement, music, and words, to the present era where technology increasingly shapes artistic practice, the performing arts have embraced change while retaining their timeless essence.

At the School of Performing Arts, our academic programmes are thoughtfully designed to nurture artists and scholars for the twenty-first century. Students are trained not only in rigorous practical disciplines but also in the theoretical foundations of shastra, choreography, arts management, literature (English and Sanskrit), computer applications, environmental awareness, and meditation. This holistic curriculum is intended to cultivate both artistic excellence and intellectual depth. Beyond conventional academic structures, we actively encourage creative inquiry and provide opportunities for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary engagement under the guidance of distinguished experts.

Our mission is to ensure that the knowledge and values imparted to our students extend beyond the classroom, contributing meaningfully to society and humanity. Anchored in the timeless ethos of Indian performing arts and the core values of Sri Sri University, we aspire to inspire our students to learn, lead, and serve on a global stage.
