Sri Sri University Hosts 7th HR Conclave, Focuses on HR Business Partnering

The Faculty of Management Studies at Sri Sri University (SSU) in Cuttack, India, recently held its 7th HR Conclave, themed ‘HR Business Partnering.’ The event, held on March 2nd, 2024, aimed to foster discussions and insights into the ever-evolving world of Human Resources (HR).

The conclave, under the leadership of Dr. D. P. Sahoo and Dr. Namita Rath, addressed the growing importance of HR Business Partnering in modern organizations. Prof. D.D. Swain, Dean of the Faculty, introduced the theme and delivered the closing remarks.

The event featured prominent speakers, including:

Mr. Alok Kumar Pal, Director of HR at Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd: Emphasized the importance of strategic HR practices, internal consultancy, talent acquisition, and leadership development for organizational success.

Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Dean of Academic & Research Extension at SSU: Advocated for a holistic approach to management, balancing time, finances, and social impact, while stressing the need to combine theory with practical skills in the technology-driven world.

Mr. Satish Mohapatra, VP & Head HR & Chief Diversity Officer of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.:

Highlighted the need for adaptation in the automotive industry, focusing on electric vehicles and the Indian market, while emphasizing the importance of change management and lifelong learning.

Hidaytulla Baig, Sr. HR Business Partner of Capgemini:

Shared insights on integrating HR into decision-making, fostering collaboration, and understanding diverse company cultures for effective HR practices.

Other speakers included Dr. Ashok Kumar Sahoo, Mr. Joseph Evans, Prof. Dr. Mamata Mohapatra, and Dr. Sujit Kumar Acharya, who all shared valuable perspectives on various aspects of HR, such as human response management, the role of AI in HR, proactive problem-solving, and HR’s role in organizational change and innovation.

The closing ceremony featured distinguished guests like Shri Radhashyam Mohapatra, Director, HR of NALCO, Swami Satyachaitanya, Director of Operations, Sri Sri University, and Dr. Deepa Vinay, Executive Registrar of Sri Sri University.

The HR Conclave 2024 provided a platform for HR professionals, academicians, and industry leaders to share insights, network, and gain valuable knowledge and strategies related to HR Business Partnering in today’s dynamic business environment.
