Our curriculum addresses contemporary developments at both regional and international levels and orients students to a wide variety of literary traditions across time and space, enabling them to closely study how language, literary form, history, society and culture interact with one another in a complex environment. It also fosters in them, the ability to think critically and engage in appreciation of literature and its analysis on the basis of contemporary theories.

Program Outcome

  • To demonstrate a systematic, extensive, and coherent understanding of English literature as well as language
  • To develop a critical temper for analysis and interpretation of literary works through scholarly inquiry and research aptitude
  • To acquire the technical vocabulary and theoretical tools of the eld, necessary to read published linguistic research
  • To acquaint with the various career avenues open to graduates in English literature and language studies programs on the global platform, such as professional writing, translation, teaching English at different levels, mass media, journalism, aviation communication, and personality development
  • To determine how issues related to society can get influenced by literature and also how literature can provide possible solutions to address the social issues
