About the Course

The courses offered by the Faculty of Arts, Communication & Indic Studies—including those at the School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies—utilize innovative teaching and learning methods such as modular-based instruction, video-based learning, e-learning, webinars, and quiz competitions. As one of the top art colleges in India and recognized as one of the best universities in India, we offer a diverse array of programs for students who wish to study arts, including the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing, Hindustani Vocal Music, Bachelor of Applied Arts, English Honours, Hindu Studies and Odissi Dance. Comprehensive counselling is provided to help students address academic and personal challenges. Remedial classes are organized to support student progress, while regular sessions and assignments help evaluate their development.

FACIS provides students with opportunities to develop their soft skills through seminars and workshops. Meditation and breathing practices are incorporated to help students enhance focus, manage stress, and gain greater self-awareness. An E-notice facility keeps students informed, and feedback from parents and students on teaching and evaluation strategies is actively acknowledged.

A comprehensive and forward-looking curriculum, developed by a team of experts, places creative learning at its core. Students, especially those enrolled in our Bachelor of Fine Arts program—recognized among the leading Bachelor of Fine Arts colleges in India—benefit from specialized training in disciplines such as Painting and Drawing, Hindustani Vocal Music, Odissi Dance, and Applied Arts. They learn in studios equipped with dedicated design spaces and undertake projects that require them to produce drawings and models to communicate their ideas effectively.

Studio work is guided through individual tutorials and group critical reviews, encouraging students to develop essential design skills. Learning extends beyond the studio, with opportunities for students to explore and draw inspiration from nature, further enriching their experience in the study of arts.

The Faculty of Arts, Communication and Indic Studies (FACIS) at Sri Sri University stands as a vibrant centre of interdisciplinary learning where creativity, scholarship, and cultural heritage converge. Conceived as a dynamic academic space, FACIS nurtures intellectual inquiry while celebrating India’s rich artistic and linguistic traditions within a contemporary global framework.

The faculty is structured into three distinct yet interconnected schools: the School of Languages and Social Sciences (SoLSS), the School of Fine Arts (SoFA), and the School of Performing Arts (SoPA). Through these schools, FACIS offers a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes designed to foster critical thinking, artistic excellence, and cultural understanding. Students engage with disciplines such as English, Sanskrit, painting, applied arts, textile art and design, sculpture, Odissi dance, and Hindustani vocal music.
