Sri Sri University ranked 13 out of the top 25 Private and Deemed Universities in the Country. The ranking has been done by a popular magazine Higher Education Review, known for its perceptive coverage on higher education and special issues on rankings. 

VIT, BITS, Amrita, Thapar, KL University, Lovely Professional, BIT Mesra, KIIT, and many other Universities have participated and ranked among the top 25. 

The University expanded its list of programs by adding 2 new faculties: Faculty of Language and Faculty of Science.

Achieved Faculty ISO 22000-2005 CERTIFICATION

The University kitchen Kaivalya certified with ISO 22000-2005 for Food Safety Management. The certification covers procurement, storage, processing, cooking & serving of vegetarian food at Kaivalya.

The University is all set to begin nine new programs, including 3 Bachelor’s programs in architecture, commerce, and music; 2 Master’s programs in Osteopathy (health and wellness) and management; 3 Special programs in education, craniosacral therapy (health and wellness) as well as its doctoral program.

The University welcomed its third batch of MBA students.

The University commenced its Faculty of Yoga and Naturopathy and Faculty of Performing Arts with the first batch of students for its BA(Yoga), MA(Yoga) Programs, and Bachelor of Performing Arts(Odissi) programs.

The University celebrated its first convocation, for its charter batch of MBA students (2012-14) in the presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder and Lifetime President, Sri Sri University, and Shri Navin Patnaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Odisha.

The University also commenced its MA Program in Good Governance and Public Policy

In 2013, the students of Sri Sri University held their first seminar, ‘Growth Without Tears’.

In 2012, the University was listed by UGC for Compliance of the UGC Regulations 2003 (published on 2nd January 2004). The University also received its approval letter from AICTE.

Later that year, Sri Sri University held the commencement day ceremony for its first MBA batch with three streams of management: General Management, Entrepreneurship, and Agribusiness. The first batch of the Faculty of Performing Arts was also inaugurated.

The ‘Global Leadership Series’ was initiated with the objective of reaching out to globally relevant leaders as well as encouraging spot learning among students. The series has featured Former Cabinet Minister, Subramanian Swamy; M.S.Rangaraj, Chief Innovation Officer, Microland; Satya Narayan Bansal, CEO, Barclays Wealth Management India; Krishna Chandra Mishra, Founder, EKutir Rural Management Services; Sanjiv Sarin, Regional President, TATA Global Beverages, Ltd and Jaideep Nath, COO, Egon Zehnder.

In 2011, Dr.Kailash Chandra Mishra, Former Director and Area Chairperson, Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management; National Insurance Academy, ASCI, and S.P. Jain Institute of Management took over as the first Vice-Chancellor of Sri Sri University.

In 2009, The Odisha Legislative Assembly passed the Sri Sri University Bill, gazetted on the same day to become the Sri Sri University Act.

In 2008, the foundation stone for the University was laid by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar along with Shri Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister, Odisha.

In 2007 the SSRVM Trust led by Yezdi Batliwala applied for 188 acres of land comprising three villages across Bidyadharpur, Arilo, and Govindpur.

In 2006, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder, Art of Living, decided to address the need for a world-class university in India that inculcated ancient spiritual values along with modern technology, ideas, and learning methods.

In keeping with his vision, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed later that year between the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Vidya Mandir Trust (SSRVM) and the Government of Odisha in the presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Shri Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister, Odisha.
