With great pride, we would like to inform you that recently The International Health Informatics Conference (IHIC) was organized in the vicinity of our campus in a hybrid mode in collaboration with Georgia Southern University, University of Lübeck, Germany, and our Publishing Partner, Springer. Dr. Rajeev Kumar Kanth, University of Turku, Finland addressed the inaugural meeting of the conference as the Guest of Honor. The inaugural meet was attended by honorable Prof. (Mrs.) Rajita Kulkarni, President, Sri Sri University, Prof. (Dr) B. R. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor & Dean Faculty of Health and Wellness, Mr. Gaurav Verma, Director of Operations, and Prof. (Dr.) Rabinarayan Satpathy, Director of the office of Vice-Chancellor & Dean, Faculty of Emerging Technologies, and Dr. Suneeta Satpathy, Associate Professor Faculty of Emerging Technologies

The IHIC is a sister conference of the International Semantic Intelligence Conference. It is an international platform for the clinical and public health community as well as researchers from diversified domains to come together to create synergy between the application of modern technology and understanding of human health. The conference helped in providing a practical sense of ongoing progress that is being made in this field, particularly in the context of emerging technologies like Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning.

Over 125 papers were received from all over the world for this conference. 75 of the selected papers were presented in 3 days.

The submissions were divided into three tracks, namely the Research Track, the Trends and Perspectives Track, and the Applications and Deployment Track, and were on the following field topics:

  3. Healthcare Portals to inform and connect Patients with Physicians
  4. Telemedicine
  5. Automatic Identification and Data Collector Systems
  6. Internet and Medicine

  10. e-Health Virtual Communities
  11. Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare Decision Making
  12. Remote Patient Monitoring
  13. Systematic Literature Reviews Related to Healthcare Treatments and Policies
  14. Improving availability, quality, and equity of health services, including:
  15. Cost-effectiveness analyses
  16. Strategies to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on routine or preventive health services
  17. Approaches to strengthen accountability for the delivery of quality health services
  18. Deep learning in medicine, human biology, and healthcare
  19. Deep learning-based clinical decision making
  20. Deep learning in biomedical applications
  21. Big data with smart computing in bioinformatics and biomechanics
  22. Big data analytics for human biology and healthcare services
  23. Big data with intelligent IoT for smart healthcare
  24. Big data analytics in biomedical services
  25. Intelligent devices and instruments for medical and healthcare services
  26. Intelligent and process-aware information systems in human biology, healthcare, and medicine

These peer-reviewed and selected papers of IHIC 2022 will be published by Springer in their prestigious “Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering” series. All the participants were given certificates for their valuable contributions.
