On the 9th of February 2024, the NSS unit of Sri Sri University (SSU) organized a triumphant blood donation camp in collaboration with Sriram Chandra Bhanja Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The event, held at the New Seminar Hall beside the Jayadev block of SSU, garnered significant attention and support from the community.

The enthusiastic volunteers of the NSS wing demonstrated their commitment to the cause for the second consecutive year. The primary objective of the camp was to encourage blood donation and promote social responsibility among the youth. This initiative aligns with the belief that young people play a crucial role in ensuring a sustainable and secure blood supply for the future.

The event commenced at 10 am with the honorable presence of Cuttack Mayor Mr. Subash Singh and renowned Ollywood actor Arindam Roy, who inaugurated the camp. The participants, primarily composed of young donors, displayed a commendable eagerness to contribute, resulting in the collection of an impressive 136 units of blood by 4.30 pm.

Mr. Arindam Roy commended the SSU volunteers for their dedicated efforts, highlighting the impending need for blood during the approaching summer months, especially for accident survivors. The presence of notable figures like Executive Registrar Dr. Deepa Vinay, Swami Satya Chaitanya, Prof. Jay Prakash Bhatt, and Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi Mohanty further added prestige to the occasion.

The success of the event, now in its second year, has motivated the NSS unit to envision even grander future editions. Each blood donor received recognition in the form of a certificate, accompanied by a nutritious snacks packet as a token of appreciation for their altruistic act.

Notable contributors such as Mr. Aseem Mohapatra, Ms. Vidisha Boitai, Ms. Arpita Puhan, Mr. Om Aniket Sahoo, Mr. Debasish Lenka, Ms. Kiran Prabha Das, and many others played pivotal roles in making the blood donation camp a mega success.
