Performing Arts refer to forms of art in which artists use their voices, bodies, or inanimate objects to convey artistic expression. 

Dance is a performing art that consists of purposefully selected sequences of human movement. This movement has aesthetic and symbolic value and is acknowledged as dance by performers and observers within a particular culture. Dance can be categorized and described by its choreography, repertoire of movements, historical period, or place of origin.

MPA Odissi Dance, the two-year master level course will provide students with ample opportunities in performing with several state-level and national-level platforms.

The syllabus of MPA Odissi focuses on History of Dance, Fundamental Knowledge of Odissi Dance, Dance & Mythology.

The students will also come across the Study of Important Texts which is related to dance alongside instruments used in dance.

The Learning Outcome-based Curriculum Framework brings an intuitive 4 Semester Masters degree that would ultimately hold the students in pursuing any career and become successful in it.

By the time the students complete their course they would be equipped with the right means to work in several sectors in dance, music, and other allied areas.

• To gain an integrated and holistic sense of dance and music as art forms
• To have a strong foundation in performing arts and be able to analyse and assess auxiliary aspects of performing arts, such as light designing, sound management, stagecraft, set designing and arts management
• To create, evaluate, analyse, apply, understand, and recognise the multi-faceted aspects and details of the art form, enabling participants to interpret and assess dance and music presentations
• To explore their passion as a profession, while encouraging the expression of creative identity and understanding the objective evaluation of their work and the works of others
• To establish his/her own institute, carrying forward the values and teachings imparted to them over the years
