Minimum Qualifications for the post of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor positions of various department in the university as advertised in the Telegraph & Hindustan Times dated 04.09.2018 and New Indian Express dated 05.09.2018. The University reserves the right to change the number of vacancy(ies) of any category and also to withdraw partial or the full advertisement without assigning any reason. The qualification shall be as per the UGC Regulations 2009 and UGC (4th Amendment) Regulation 2016 as adopted by the University, from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications applicable for Assistant Professor & Associate Professor positions in the following departments:

  • Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies: Assistant Professor(s) in Economics, General Management, Finance, Production & Operation Management
  • Faculty of Architecture: Assistant Professor(s)
  • Faculty of Science: Assistant Professor(s) in Mathematics
  • Department of Animation and New Media: Assistant Professor(s) & Associate Professor(s) in Animation
  • Department of Journalism: Assistant Professor(s) in Journalism & Mass Communication

(I) Associate Professors:

a. Good academic record with a Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.

b. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).

c. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of PhD research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

d. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.

e. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in this Regulation.

NB: In certain disciplines, the qualification and experience will be prescribed as per the guidelines of UGC and or Statutory bodies.

(II) Assistant Professors

a. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
b. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
c. Candidates, who are, or have been awarded a PhD Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of PhD Degree) Regulations, 2009 and UGC (4 th Amendment) Regulation 2016, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
d. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

Minimum Qualifications applicable for Laboratory Assistant(s) positions in the university:

(I) Laboratory Assistant(s) :

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Laboratory Assistant  in Physiology & Anatomy in Department of Osteopathy Candidate should have B.Sc. or Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (B.Sc. MLT / DMLT) degree with at-least 50% marks,  having expertise in Haematology & Histology will be an added advantage. Preferably with 3-5 years of working experience in the relevant field. Recently graduated students may also apply.

(II) Laboratory Assistant  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Laboratory Assistant in Physics & Computer Science in Faculty of Science Candidate should have MCA/PGDCA/M.Sc.(Computer Science) for the position Lab. Assistant (Comp. Science) and M.Sc. (Physics) for Lab. Assistant (Physics) with at-least 50% marks. Preferably 3-5 years of working experience in the relevant field. Recently graduated students may also apply.

General Instructions & Essential Information:

a. The university reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post at any time without assigning any reason. The right is also reserved with the university either to fill or not to fill any or all the posts and its decision in this regard shall be final.

b. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview.

c. The university reserves its right to place reasonable limits on the total number of candidates to be called for interview.

d. Stringent criteria may be applied for short listing the candidates to be called for interview.

e. Minimum requirements of qualifications and / or experience can be relaxed in respect of exceptionally qualified candidates by the screening / selection committee with the approval of the Vice Chancellor.

f. Separate application must be submitted for each position.

g. The “Name of the Post Applying For” & “Subject Name” must be clearly mentioned on the application and in the ‘Subject’ of the email.

h. It is mandatory to submit the soft copy (in prescribed word format) of the completed application form to the email address: The enclosures are required to be sent through email as attachment.

i. Higher initial pay may be given to exceptionally qualified and deserving candidates.

j. Applicants not found suitable for higher positions may be considered for lower positions in the same area of specialisation.

k. The process of selection may be by a written test/ presentation / interview or a combination thereof.

l. The application duly filled in the prescribed form must reach the HR Department on or before  15th September 2018.

m. The applicants serving in Government / Semi-Government organisations / Public Sector undertakings / Autonomous organisations must send their applications through proper channel. Applications received without the recommendations of the employers will not be considered. However, an advance copy of such an application may be sent followed by the original application through proper channel.

n. Candidates shall have to produce original documents at the time of appearing in interview.

o. The candidates called for interview shall be paid up to 3 AC Rail Fare (applicable for faculty positions only), stay will have to be borne by yourself, but on request budget accommodation can be arranged in the university campus.

p. Openings are there only for Assistant Professor cadre for the following subjects – Economics, General Management, Finance, Production & Operation Management, Architecture, Mathematics, Animation and Journalism & Mass Communication.

q. Openings are there only for Associate Professor cadre for following subject – Animation.
