March 17, 2023

Prof (Mrs.) Rajita Kulkarni, the President of Sri Sri University, visited the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore on March 17, 2023, to attend the court meeting and commemoration of the 100th year of the installation of the statue of J.N. Tata. The statue is a bronze statue of JN Tata holding a replica of the main building in his hand. The memorial was shipped in parts to India from England. It was unveiled on 10 March 1922 by the Maharaja of Mysore, Krishnaraja Wadiyar. The court meeting was held to discuss the progress of the institute and its future plans.

HRDC, Sri Sri University is organizing a 3-day online workshop on ‘The Power of Narrative’ in management education with Bharat Dash, founder of Katha Pratha. The workshop aims to enhance teaching and leadership skills by helping participants learn about the power of narrative and how to incorporate storytelling into management education. The workshop is designed to help participants conceptualize and design their own teaching-learning blended modules based on storytelling. The workshop will also cover topics such as differentiating between Asynchronous & Synchronous Learning and applying the norms of UGC and teaching effectively in the Blended Mode.

Guru Raikant Mohapatra, Dean, Faculty of Art Communication & Indic Studies at Sri Sri University, has received the Best Performer award in the Dancing/Choreography category at the International Excellence Awards 2023 organized by Kiteskraft Productions LLP. The International Excellence Awards is an annual event that recognizes and celebrates the achievements of individuals and organizations across various fields. Kiteskraft Productions LLP is an event management company that organizes the International Excellence Awards..

Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital in partnership with the Department of Kaya Chikitsa, Govt. Ayurvedic College, Bilaspur, and Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science have published a research paper on sickle cell anemia management in the AIIMS Department of Biochemistry. The research paper is a result of a collaboration between the three institutions and is a step forward for healthcare. The research paper is expected to provide valuable insights into the management of sickle cell anemia and help in the development of new treatment options. Sickle cell anemia is a genetic blood disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine that uses natural remedies to treat various ailments.

G20 EMPOWER is a working group that focuses on women’s empowerment. The group has identified Priority Issue III: Education as a game-changing pathway to women’s empowerment. The group is planning fantastic initiatives to ensure that the gender gap in higher education, especially STEM education for girls, is reduced. The meeting was attended by Rajita Bagga, President of Sri Sri University.

The Department of Entomology, Faculty of Agriculture at Sri Sri University organized a one-day workshop on ‘Upskilling the Youth on Commercial Beekeeping’ on March 14th, 2023. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Chitta Ranjan Satapathy, ICAR emeritus scientist.

A Vice-Chancellor’s Roundtable was organized by Sri Sri University in collaboration with W20 India on March 13, 2023. The theme of the roundtable was Women in Higher Education: pathways to increase women in leadership roles. The roundtable aimed to provide a platform for Vice-Chancellors of universities to discuss the challenges faced by women in higher education and to identify pathways to increase women in leadership roles. The roundtable also aimed to identify best practices and strategies to increase the number of women in leadership roles in higher education.

Mr. Rudra Narayan Behera has made the state of Odisha proud by securing the 1st position in Kyorugi and 2nd in Poomsae in the 34th Odisha State Senior Kyorugi and 7th Odisha State Senior Poomase Taekwondo Championship 2023 held at Puri.

The International Workshop on BIM Awareness and Cype Technology was organized by the Faculty of Architecture (FOA) at Sri Sri University in collaboration with BIMEDGE. The workshop aimed to provide a platform for architects, engineers, and students to learn about Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Cype Technology. BIM is a process that involves creating and managing digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places.

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) signed an MoU with Sri Sri University on March 5, 2023, with the blessings of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The MoU aims to promote the development of the Indian economy and to create a healthier, wiser, and better India. The PHDCCI is a national organization that works to promote the growth of Indian industry and trade. It is headquartered in New Delhi and has regional offices in several cities across India.

Sri Sri Centre for Translation and Interpreting Studies, FACIS, Sri Sri University, in collaboration with Calcutta Comparatists 1919, is offering a Three Months’ Online Certificate Course in Tamil Language. The course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the Tamil language, covering the basics of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence construction. The course will be conducted by experienced language teacher, Sourav Chakraborti, and will commence on 2nd April 2023, with classes held online every Saturday and Sunday from 6 PM to 7.30 PM. The course is open to students who have completed their Higher Secondary education in any stream and carries 20 credits.

Sri Sri University’s second batch of the B.A.M.S. degree program commenced on 21 Feb, providing students with a comprehensive course on traditional Indian medicine. The four-and-a-half-year program offered by Sri Sri University focuses on the practical application of Ayurveda in treating patients, enabling students to become successful Ayurvedic practitioners. By equipping students with the skills and knowledge required to apply Ayurveda in a practical setting, the program prepares them to meet the demands of the industry.

On 19 Feb, a group of students from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) at Sri Sri University had the chance to visit JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd and gain invaluable insights into the latest trends and practices in the cement industry. The visit was designed to provide students with a hands-on learning experience and allowed them to interact with industry experts, gaining a deeper understanding of the operations and management of a cement manufacturing unit. In addition to observing the day-to-day functioning of the plant, the students were also briefed on the key challenges faced by the industry and the measures taken to overcome them.

On 16 Feb, the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) at Sri Sri University arranged a visit for its students to Aarti Steels Ltd, providing them with a practical understanding of the steel manufacturing process. The visit aimed to introduce students to the latest trends and practices in the steel industry and emphasized the importance of innovation and research in the field. By observing various technologies used in the industry, the students were able to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with steel manufacturing.

The Faculty of Management Studies at Sri Sri University recently hosted a highly anticipated expert panel discussion titled ‘Union Budget 2023 – A 360 Degree Analysis’. The event featured two distinguished guests, CA A.K. Sabat, Founder A.K. Sabat & Co., and Prof. Amulyadhan Rout, XIM University, who brought their expertise to analyze the much-awaited Union Budget for 2023. The panelists provided valuable insights on the budget’s key announcements, including tax proposals, allocation of funds for various sectors, and measures to boost economic growth.

Sri Sri University’s Faculty of Emerging Technologies has taken a significant step towards strengthening its partnership with the industry by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). This MOU will enable the two organizations to collaborate and offer joint and value-added courses to the students. The agreement was signed in the presence of Mr. Ravindra Kembhavi, Head of Sales, and Chief Education Evangelist of TCS iON, who visited the university to discuss various joint initiatives.
